So happy with my new addition!!!
I had never even heard the name Maruszczyk but I'm now a believer.
I'm going to post over in the electronics section... I'm wondering if putting a 3 way switch in will allow me to get a bit more true "p bass" sound off the neck pickup.
I love the sound with both pickups turned full on... it's really full, punchy, and clear. I'd just love the ability to get the thumpy sound of a pbass off the neck if possible. I might try a set of compression wounds or even flats... not sure if that will make the dual pickup configuration lose the dimension I'm liking though.
Anyone happen to know if these are the AL or FE pickups by chance?

After looking at the website a bit closer the AL have the big pole pieces too… I did notice that it seems the AL have a black logo instead of white so I think they are FE which makes sense. They are pretty bright for that style of pickup.

I've got the PC4 AL pickup in my Maruszczyk, which has the black logo, but that's with the smaller pole pieces.

There is the PC4 AL-H pickups, which are the larger pole pieces you have, but a quick Google search shows images of that model with the white logo.

It may be worth emailing Delano and clarifying, but after a quick look, I can't see an obvious way of telling whether it's an FE or an AL-H without removing the pickup. Unless, and this may be way too obvious to even suggest, you can access the build spec sheet? Either from a previous owner, or if Maruszczyk keep a copy on file.

I’ve got the Delano PC5 AL/M2 in the neck position on my Frog and it has a great P tone! I roll to that pickup all of the time when I need to sound like a P, but only better since it’s packaged in my headless

Thank you... even the description on the website seems to point towards the Alnico being more "classic P" style.

I've only gigged with the bass once, and blended both pickups for that one, so take this as an 'initial impression' rather than a very experienced viewpoint - it definitely feels like a Precision to me. It has a lot of clarity and is a very articulate pickup, but that classic tone and the way P way of sitting in the mix is still very much there.

It does what I want from a Precision pup, but I do play quite aggressive, fast & distorted music with a pick, so my needs may be very different to yours.

I was tempted to make that suggestion to you. I think it's better that you came to that conclusion on your own.

You should do a side-by-side image with both basses adjusted to the same size, as best you can. It's an interesting experience to see how your bass came out compared to the configurator.

I like your idea of matching the config with the actual, but I'm only 5 weeks into my order... on potentially a 15wk wait with the custom electronics. And since I just did another mocked up couch picture for another TB'er I went ahead and did my own mockup in anticipation of my real couch pic

Oops, I had to edit that post. It took about 8 weeks. That's still less than 4 months, which is the norm according to Adrian.

The bass sounds pretty good so far, but the strings are still new so I'm going through the break-in phase right now. I really do not like the sound of brand new strings.

As far as the quality goes, it probably doesn't get better than that. It's simply top notch with great attention to detail. And the string container was a pleasant surprise.

The setup is on point; no extra adjustments needed.

That's still really fast. Great to hear about the building quality. New strings can be pretty zingy once they get a little wear on them they start to sound better.
