I took advantage of the Euro being low at the moment and ordered this Passive 30" Elwood C. Always wanted a sparkle finish Bass. I ended up choosing the Marusczcyk Jazz pickups after watching a few Public Peace videos of them on some builds. I think they will be fine for passive pickups.
Alder body (silver sparkle), Maple neck/fretboard, 1.5" nut, 9.5" radius with Black sparkle inlays and Hipshot hardware.

Very nice choices, congrats!

I'm in a similar situation. I've always wanted a silver sparkle bass and went with a Mr Tee, 32" scale, vintage tinted flamed neck with birdseye fingerboard. Passive with a tone control for each pickup.

There's not a lot of Maruszczyk silver sparkle basses out there. I've only seen two or three in pictures. The configurator shows small flakes and I kind of hope for bigger flakes but we'll see. Should be finished in one or two months.

It's great to have a company that makes both traditionnal and boutique models. The whole process of configuring a build is so much fun!

How long until you're officially out of the new bass honeymoon phase?

I've been practicing and gigging with my Maruszczyk Elwood shorty for a little over 6 months now, and I've yet to find one thing I don't like about. Weight & balance are perfectly, it's endlessly playable, haven't had to adjust the neck through some temperature swings this year, pickups are great, it holds tune well..

I've been playing bass for 20+ years and this is the only instrument I've owned, out of far too many, that I don't feel like I have to fight or compromise with in some way. If (when?) I get the urge for a new bass, it'll be a Maruszczyk.

I've had mine for, I guess two years now? And I feel the same way. Even when I get the irrational urge to build something else in the configurator, or look at other shorties, I realize I would just end up using the Elwood full time again. It does everything, and is easy to forget about when playing and just focus on the music.

I've had mine a year and a half and it's still a joy to play. I'm not tempted by GAS often but the only thing I want next is a hollow Joker.

I remember writing in this topic that I thought my Elwood was the best bass I've owned. Such a great instrument with amazing value for money.
Weirdly, I sold it a year after I got it. It has now reappeared online as the buyer is selling it too. I have been tempted to buy it back but I won't. Instead, I'm going to get a more "up to date" version of it. An Elwood with slightly different specs, more in line with what I like now, compared to what I liked in 2020.

For instance, it will have to have Ultra Light Hipshot tuners as well as Vintage steel bridge from Hipshot too. My previous Elwood has Maruszczyk own hardware and I feel like it is where it was lacking.

I received my Cazpar a couple of hours ago and it is great. Was in tune out of the box and setup is really nice for me. I already added my set of White Ebony knobs that I had. Weighs in at 7.3 lbs. Going to get a few hours with it tonight after dinner to go through all the tones I can get out of it. :thumbsup:

No not yet, I'm dealing with a fret buzz (on a fretless :woot:) on the A string at the 7th fret first. Put a straight edge on it and there's a slight dip causing the issue, so can't adjust it out by raising the saddle. Since it's at the E it gets used a lot… bzzz, bzzz, bzzz :woot:

Oh Man..That is the last thing you would expect on a fretless.
