Hey all, I'm thinkibg about ordering a Frog 5 in 35". What would the neck profile be comparable to?
On a 4-string Frog, the standard thickness of the neck at the 1st fret is 21mm front to back. When I ordered mine, I asked for a slender neck, and got one that measures 20mm front to back at the 1st fret. So there is a bit of flexibility there, if you know what you want and what to ask for.I think they refer to their standard neck profile as "modern C". My basses (2 4-strings and a 5-string I no longer own) have more p than j necks, not chunky, but definitely also not slim and "fast". It may be possible to discuss the neck profile with Adrian though.
Oh, and by the way, the neck on my bass feels phenomenal! It doesn't hurt that I had them paint the back of the neck in matte green (something they don't normally do), which makes it feel like silk. I paid extra for that, and it was worth every peso. I got a 40mm nut, and 18mm spacing at the bridge, which results in very little noticeable taper. Absolutely wonderful! (For me, anyway.)
