Thank you for the input. Yes, I was looking at some of Bass Freaks listings. The configuration is cool and all, but I am after a Jake with more or less standard specs. I figured there would be less wait time as I am.somewhat impatient.I would imagine it would be ok on Reverb to buy from a European dealer like Bass Freaks in Belgium. They have quite a few listed and are reputable

YW, for sure if you can find a standard Jake P ready for sale you will be happy and not having to wait 3-5 months is a plus

Get what you want. A custom build won't cost you any more than buying one already made, although you might have to pay a bit more for some of your custom features, depending on what they are.I had a fairly long conversation with Randy from the Bass Showcase the other day. Super helpful guy and he got a few of my more detailed questions answered the same day.
On the other hand, to do what I want may require this to be a custom build

I have ordered frog #3 and frog #4 through Bass Freaks. Since I live very close to the shop, I visited it to try some configurations they had in stock as well.
Pierre has always been very helpful and a big Maruszczyk-enthousiast as well. So nothing but praise from me.

Beautiful bass! Congratulations.. 10 lbs does not surprise me bearing in mind original hardware, dual coils, preamp etc. Without going the "L" route that might have been 12 lbs plus I'd guess. A final result of 9lbs is not bad.
I wanted to go (almost) as light as possible on my new fretless but can't really compare directly with yours. Different format but it does show how light you can achieve... Single pickup, passive (no preamp), Hipshot Ultra-Light tuners. I did compromise and go for a brass Hipshot A-Style bridge in an attempt to maximize sustain (so could have gone lighter weight!). I am really pleased with the result, and we're talking 7 lbs 10 ounces...

Very nice! I love what I have seen of ACG basses. I nearly went for one a year or so ago...
Great ergonomics, the preamp is a little bit tricky but once you get used to it, it has a bunch of tone possibilities
