On the bridge it is certainly in the neighborhood. Ive never personally had a MM Stingray, but I have a Sterling. To me, on the bridge pickup, it sounds much like the Sterling without the active eq, i.e, I feel like the eq adds a little subtle saturation. However, it is slightly less punchy and a bit more growly. In other comparisons, it sounds a bit in between my Sterling and my Warwick $$ on their respective bridge pickups.

I am torn as to whether the front or back of the neck is more lovely.

I do love the 7 stripes on the back of the neck.
The contrast of the Wenge and Padouk.
But, on the front of the neck I do like how the Maruszczyk black nylon strings seem to hide and disappear in the White Ebony fretboard wood.
Almost like a optical illusion. The strings just seem to fade away into the wood.
Holy smokes that thing is f*cking wicked. Love it.
This post puts a happy ending on the twisted story of how I eventually wrestled my new bass from FedEx. i won't belabor the story. Suffice to say that my bass arrived at the Mamphis FedEx station and shortly afterward I received email from them stating that all the customs issues had cleared. The next day it arrived at a FedEx depot here in Raleigh that's about 5 miles from our house. Then, despite multiple phone calls with assurances that the bass would be on a truck and out to me "today", still no delivery, no delivery, no delivery...
. You might remember that I was hopeful the bass delivery would sync up with my birthday and on the very day I received a phone call from a lovely woman who assured me she had spoken with the supervisor at the local depot and was told the bass was on a truck for delivery. About an hour later though I received another call from a different person telling me that the bass couldn't be delivered "today"... that is, on my birthday... because it is an international shipment and required a full week to clear. ***???!! 
. I was assured that it was still at the depot and I could pick it up myself until later that evening. So I went on the FedEx website and placed a hold on the package and went to pick it up. Off I went. Upon presenting my ID and tracking number the gentleman expressed concern that my package might not actually be there. He went off to talk to the supervisor, came back shaking his head and said they were looking into things. I stood around for about 20 minutes waiting for the supervisor to come speak with me while other customers accomplished their business. Eventually, the fellow at the counter went back into the depths of the building, and lo and behold reentered the counter area holding a package from Public Peace 
. And so it was that I received my birthday present on the very day, 19 weeks from the day it was ordered.
My thoughts and experiences are identical to those posted above by Scott Sinner (post 7312). I prefer tape wound strings so after a bit of playing the bass with the stock flats I restrung with a set of d'Addario tapes. The only tweek required will be a minor intonation adjustment on the E string but I'm giving the neck and strings a couple of days in our house before I mess with that. The bass is beautifully crafted and a total pleasure to play. The tone is right on for a the kind of prominent fundamental sound I want for walking bass over changes, which is the majority of my playing. Beyond that there is plenty of tonal variety available and I'm confident the bass will fit right in with whatever tone I want.
I am thrilled to have the Cazpar and grateful to everyone here for the inspiration and for answering my questions. Also another shout out to Randy at Bass Spotlight for his assistance with the order and for following up with me as needed. This was a great experience.
I'll be virtually seeing everyone here.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments about my new bass. A day of letting things sit after restringing resulted in need for a few minutes with an accurate tuner and a screwdriver to tweak the intonation on all four strings. Not really unexpected and now it's in tune everywhere on the neck. I hadn't really thought about it when I first picked the bass up to play this morning but I was practicing some walking bass and when I played an AEC#A arppegio high-to-low across all four strings the low A was so sharp it hurt (pun intended...

Wow, that gorgeous!
I've been playing with 6 strings in the configurator. So far this is my front runner. Not sure of what electronics yet, but I like the overall look. I keep going back and forth with natural wood vs. transparent color over wood.
While I am not sure exactly when it will happen, I do have vague plans for a pointy Maruszczyk.
This does not turn me away, but makes me want one even more! (Especially that headstock.)
