I've never found an easier or faster playing multi-scale neck than a Maruszczyk. I'd love to see a FannyMopped on the couch.

I think I was told 4-6 months (fuzzy memory.) Took just a touch over 4 months. I should note, hasn’t arrived yet. Just got the couch pic. Still needs to ship. But it’s assembled and a real bass now!

Hey all. I’m trying to find pics comparing transparent turquoise and transparent white in their matte, gloss, and nitro forms. I’m about 40 pages deep looking for examples but I figure it might be easier to just ask anyone with these paint combos to share pics of their basses, because who doesn’t love sharing pics of their basses?The configurator is great but real life examples are better. (Also, I’m of the opinion that couch pics & actual pics of Maruszczyk basses always somehow look better than their configurator examples.)

Oh that's purdy. Thanks! Is that gloss, matte, or nitro? Looks like gloss, but i could be wrong. (I often am.)

I'm happy to report that I received my bass this past weekend! I'm very pleased with the results - it's a well balanced, responsive, and fast playing bass. Here are some pics:

Although the walnut burl from the configurator is not available for the Joker, Adrian proposed Laurel Burl, which is similar to walnut burl in appearance. So, I chose this piece of Laurel Burl:

I really like the Delano JSBC 4 TF "times square" pickups. They're very bright and clear. I've regretted some humbucker choices in the past since they're too warm and can't get bright enough. These Delano's can achieve that "hammer on piano string" brightness I was looking for, but they can also be warmed up by rolling off the tone a bit.
What surprised me the most about these pickups is how much variation in tone color I get when I move my right hand tasto or ponticello. As a classical guitarist, I love that this is a possibility. I never noticed much variation on right hand position with any of my other basses (except for perceivable tension).
In terms of logistics, the bass was in my hands about 18 weeks after order - which is in line what Maru/Mensinger usually forecast.
As with ordering anything online, I was a little nervous about the end result having never played it. But, I was happy to discover that these are well constructed and better balanced than most any other production bass I've played. There was a small miscommunication where they glossed the fingerboard (I had only wanted the back of the neck to be glossed and the fingerboard to be normal), but it's not a big deal and actually gives it a pleasantly different appearance.
The ordering process was easy and I used Randy with Spotlight basses to help facilitate the order/customs, etc. He was great to work with.
I gotta give them major props on shipping... The bass left Germany very early Thursday morning and the Bass was on my doorstep in L.A. on Friday afternoon. I've never heard of any international shipping going that fast - not even for a postcard! I was very impressed with how quickly it got here.
Anywho, I'm happy all around and would certainly buy another Maru/Mensinger instrument in the future!

A sacrilegious question:
Anyone tried or own one of their guitars? Seriously considering a semi-hollow Tele or their Jazzmine.

Has ayone had the grub screws come loose on the saddles. The A string sounded rattlely on checking the bridge found the grub screw on the saddle was very loose all four needed tightening.
I was going to put some thread lock on them but wondered if anyone else had this problem or switched to another bridge if so which one and was it a straight swap with no drilling.

That's the standard bridge, I presume? That issue doesn't sound familiar, but on one of my Elwoods it was swapped for a Hipshot Vintage because I like a narrower string spacing.
That Hipshot model has the common Fender pattern and needs drilling. Which would be the case for most bridges, since the bolt pattern of the standard bridge is not so standard. Am I making sense?
