On my Elwood 5L it's Parallel Up, Single Middle, Series Down. I've noticed other contemporary passive basses tend to follow the same pattern. Generally series is going to sound significantly fatter and louder than parallel. Parallel is usually marginally louder than single, and is hum-free.

Brilliant. I had a hunch that's how it went based on how it sounded. Was pretty sure series was down. It was definitely the beefiest and loudest setting. But sometimes Up (parallel) sounded fairly beefy, depending on my blend position, and it confused me. Doesn't take much.

What are the stock strings on a Maruszczyk bass? Anyone know?... Also, they are the only strings I've ever used that "catch" my arm hair. Freaks me out, and can be very uncomfortable. Just wondering what the strings are...

Can't answer your question but yeah I changed the strings very soon after receiving the bass, I expect some will be OK with them. Great basses though.

I believe they use Galli strings. Never cared for any of the options, they usually sound dead to me upon inspection.

It's either their own brand or Elixer, if you opt for coated strings in the configurator when you go the custom route:

They do sell other brands in the shop, so you could probably ask Adrian for other options if order a custom bass.

The Moped might be the closest place to start. I was considering that, but they won't make it in 30" scale (I asked).

Sorry for the confusion. I was thinking of a Mr. Tee with Bassculture Mini, but I was referring to a new model as they recently did with the Speesy if I'm not mistaken.

What exactly about the Mustang are you wanting to emulate?

Aside from the body shape, I like how they sound. The safest choice would be a Fender JMJ or a Squire CV '60s which I prefer because the nut width is 38 mm.

The fanned fret 5 looks like it sports Delano JSBC 6's instead of 5's. Can you measure casing length for me please? I'm looking to use JSBC's for a similar fanned fret build.

If I'm going to spend 1800€ (give or take) on a bass that's shaped like a Fender, I'm going to order that bass from Maruszczyk, for two reasons. First, I can get exactly what I want on the Maruszczyk. Painted headstock? Exotic fretboard? Choice of pickups and preamps? No problem. Fender simply doesn't offer the same selection of choices at that price. And second, I've seen too many examples of people having issues with brand new expensive Fenders. Probably most Fender instruments are of a quality that matches the price, but certainly not all. And I don't want to take that chance with my instrument. I'd rather give my business to craftsmen who take pride in every single instrument they produce.
