The pickguard is tort, and to be honest, the only part of the bass I'm not happy with. It looks cheap to me.
I ordered a second Maruszczyk today and I'm not getting a pick guard on this one. New one will be another fretless but with J pickups.

I ordered a second Maruszczyk today and I'm not getting a pick guard on this one. New one will be another fretless but with J pickups.
I think a nice custom wood pickguard would look good on your fretless Jake. I know Marusczcyk has an option for wood pickguards on some models. I wonder if you can get them to make you one for your 32" Jake body and send it to you when they ship out your new order. Very cool tune and playing in your video also.

Over the weekend I swapped out the Delano pickup that was originally in my 32" Jake build for the Aguilar DCB-4P pickup and Wow! It pairs really nice with the Noll 3 band pre that is installed in it. Great lows, mids and highs. Sounds like a P in passive mode also. The Delano P pickup just sounded a bit to much midrange to my ears on this Bass. I also changed out the plastic knobs I had on it with some black aluminum Sadowsky style knobs from Best Bass Gear.

Thank you! They received the first payment on January 3rd/4th. Unfortunately my order was delayed, probably because I chose Nordstrand Big Splits as an extra request.

That has to be one of the longest build times I have seen yet from Maru. Did they keep in good communication along the way to keep you informed of the long delay? This is the end of my 18th week since ordering my Elwood L...Still keeping my fingers crossed...Randy from Bass spotlight has been unable to get an update from Adrian for the last 2 weeks since asking him for an update on my build. Wish communication was better.

Thank you! No, they didn't... I asked Adrian if they still had problems with shipments from Nordstrand on June 22, but he never answered. After all this time and zero updates, I sent another email and he replied a few hours later. The bass should be here next week.It is a nice Bass!
