Holy crap! I got the best surprise today! I got my shipping info on Wednesday. I finally got a delivery date of next Tuesday. I came home from a doctor's appointment to a package from Public Peace! I got to play it for a spell and this thing is absolute butter! I thought fivers were just hard to play. I've never played a bass so comfortable. It also looks amazing. The couch pic didn't do it justice and neither does the attached. It's hard to explain. Light does cool and strange things to what you see IRL. I'm still trying to get to know the tonal shapes it has but that's the fun of exploring. Also the passive electronics sound really solid. I've never had a bass that could do passive well on active pickups. I'm in love.

Anything I should be concerned about?
Issues with payment/currency conversion? It looks like they take credit cards, so I'd be protected that way. I think PayPal charges extra fees when doing international transactions. Additional taxes?

Go through a dealer to help with comms and reduce your overall costs.
My experience below relates to a custom build. I worked with Randy at Bass Spotlight. He got me a discount, worked with Adrian, asked me technical questions that I didn't consider, offered advice, and dealt with all the paperwork with regard to shipping overseas. I don't know anything about ordering their stock products, but it probably wouldn't hurt to reach out to see if some of the above applies.

- Neck pickup: Center of pickup at 11 inches from 12th fret (0.5 inch closer to the neck than a P pickup). I first wanted the exact P position but I was afraid it would have brought the neck pickup too close to the bridge pickup leaving just 0.5 inch between both pickups. I prefered to move the neck pickup towards the neck than move the bridge pickup towards the bridge.
- Bridge pickup: Center of pickup at 13.5 inches from 12th fret (exact location of a MM pickup, as I find most bridge pickups too close to the bridge on two pickups basses). I'll then have 1 inch of space between the two pickups

Yeah, I thought you were talking about ordering a custom build vs one of the in stock instruments from another builder he has on the site.
I just saw that there was a video of him playing the two Stradi's that are listed. I'm not sure if a dealer like Bass Spotlight could save you any money on a stock purchase like that, but it might be worth a try to check. For a custom build, if you're in the US, they can certainly save you some money and make the transaction smoother.

Speaking of videos, I was watching some of Adrian's videos and I came across the video he did of my custom Cazpar five that I have in the classifieds right now.
I put down a deposit three months ago because the configurator is fun and the price was nice when compared to other custom builders. I did so with no thought for when it would be done because I know there is a long wait.
Recent news has me hoping the wait isn't the full ~20 weeks they give as their estimate. If they take the full normal time, the price of my bass might jump quite a bit if new tariffs appear.

Please forgive the self-indulgent aspect of this, but got sent a great snap of my Maruszczyk from a gig this weekend. I've had it close to 3 years now, I play other basses fairly often but every time I go back and pick this one up, I'm reminded of why this is my number one. A large part of me is tempted to start selling off almost everything else and order a second Maruszczyk.
The £1250 I paid for this is starting to feel like my best value bass purchase in a world where a MIM Mark Hoppus retails at £1300+ now.

I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment as well, 14-ish years ago I bought my first Marusczcyk for 1390 euro (+-1150 pound / +-1470 usd) and I believe it's been my best bass related purchase of all time (though my 2010 Markbass cmd121p offers some good competition on that front)
In fairness I did buy a Barefaced Compact cab about 13 years or so ago? Ex-demo and cost well under half of what a new model would now, if I remember correctly. It's never missed a step for me, that was an incredible buy for me too.
