The Official MARUSZCZYK CLUB!

All I can say is, "Yes."

Hello all,

I'm considering ordering a Jake L from Adrian. I'm looking to go as light weight as possible and so am willing to pay extra for chambering and lightweight hardware. I was wondering how light I could expect the bass to be. Also, if there are any real world examples of the metallic purple that Maruszczyk uses, I'd love to see them as I can't find much besides one old reverb listing and know the configurator and real world don't always match up.

Thanks!

The weight also depends on the model and scale of the instrument. For example if you chose a 34" Jake P 4 string chambered with an all Alder body Roasted Maple neck using all light weight Aluminum Hipshot hardware then you could probably expect a Bass that weighs around 7 - 8 lbs. Adrian no longer uses Swamp Ash as a light weight wood anymore...Regular European Ash is quite heavy. Not sure about the metallic Purple color.

I have a 30" chambered Jake L with an Ash body, Hipshot ultralight tuners with Drop D Extender and a Hipshot vintage steel bridge. I can check tonight to see exactly what it weighs, but my recollection is very close to 8 lbs.

Any thoughts on preamps for a 6 string Joker B with 48HB's? I was initially going to order it passive, but thought about the "what if" scenarios. Adrian confirmed that a tone control can be added to the Noll TCM 3P. I figured I could get a lot of flexibility out it.

What are your thoughts? I'm planning to order in about two weeks.

I weighed it this morning - 7.6 lbs.

This one is 32" scale, alder body w/ quilted ash top, chambered, Hipshot Ultralite lolipop tuners, monorail bridge: ~7.4lbs.
