Might pull the trigger on a Jake Basement 55 4p. Is the pickup hum cancelling or a standard single coil, if anyone has one? Is that hum an issue too?

MY .02. I have the Hellwood 5a and the pickup covers and padauk fretboard is plenty of red for me. Show everyone another pic with those photoshops with the whole bass.
I think they both look awesome but I think it would be too much red.

I'd leave the black knobs, they belong and fit to the hardware. Having them in padouk would be a little too much for my personal taste.

But hey, its your bass and you will know what to do.

I wouldn't do that, to much red, in my opinion. It's perfect like it is!
