I agree.....My experiences with Adrian, so far, have been nothing but positive....

I'm probably getting my knickers in a knot over nothing.....

I'm a bit of a worrier by nature though.....;):)

It's sort of hard not to worry at least a little on orders, isn't it? That unknown factor is hard to cope with....:D

My order has been placed for about a week now and I'm already starting to question some of the options that I selected. Should I have gone with the aluminum bridge instead of the brass one that I chose? Is the electronics package the right one for the performance I have in mind? Other than providing a more stable neck, will the carbon rods add any other favorable attributes? It's madness......

You're dead right there.....Not only am I worrying about the color of my Elwood but I also sent my Mensinger Joker down to California to have it de fretted....

I've been told that my Joker picked up a ding on the journey down and now I'm worrying what might happen to it on the journey back up!....:eek:.....

I'm a nervous wreck! :nailbiting:

I changed my order a month after I placed the actual order. That was a hardware change and I Adrian didn’t mind that.

I'm sure that it wouldn't be a problem to make changes right now since it SO early into the process. My fear is that any changes may just cause more questions. None of the options that I chose are over the top. I could make a strong argument that what I ordered is pretty functional. Since this is the first time that I have ever purchased a bass in this manner, I'm just a little apprehensive.

With the Elwood 4 that I acquired last week, I think that I've reached a conclusion that I'm probably going to be more of a 3-band preamp guy at least when Maruszczyk single coils are the pickup choice. The current Elwood has a 2-Band Delano preamp. Not a bad combination but just not my everyday tone by default. What I chose to go with will be fine. Resistance to the temptation of making changes is needed....

Hey low-end friends,
Been lurking on this thread for a bit, but as I get close to pulling the trigger on my first Maruszczyk, I wanted to toss a few considerations out to get some feedback.
One of my main reasons to go this route was to (re)add an active 5-er to the stable (an Elwood in this case). But as I started spec'ing out the bass, I found myself going back to use my main passive bass (a Roscoe Beck V) as the "template". Anyone else do this? Most specifically, I'm wondering about the neck radius and nut width.

I know that 45mm is Maruszczyk's standard for nut width, but my other 5's are 46-47.6mm. Not ever having put a ton of thought into nut width, I'm not sure I'd notice, but wondering if going with the 48mm option is going to end up being a better fit.

On the radius concern, my other 5's range from 7.5" to 9.5" (on the RB). How have you guys who've gone with his standard 14" radius enjoyed that feel?

You will definitely notice, but the question is whether it would bother you. My Elwood is 45mm at the nut with a 17mm string spacing at the bridge, which is perfect for ME. If you want the bass to feel like your RB, I would recommend the wider nut.

Until a few years ago, I wasn't even aware that there are different radii. Now I know and notice while playing and have come to the conclusion that the flatter, the better. Again, for ME! Then again, if you want the new bass to feel like the blueprint (RB), go with the 9.5 radius. On the other hand, you may like a flatter radius and will not know if you don't try...

I'm so use to buying off the rack that I never even asked what the fretboard radius was for my Elwood 4 acquisition. I knew that the nut was the default 40mm and the spacing at the bridge was 19mm. Whatever the radius is, and I assume it is the default option, the bass just feels like me putting on an old pair of Levi's. Comfortable.....

Hi lol !!

I do take credit cards but only from my site provider / check out. As a Belgian seller I don't qualify for Reverb Direct checkout that allows CC (as far as I understand / understood).... :)
