If you aren't satisfied, maybe that is who you need to be addressing your concerns with. That's how I would handle it....

I think you misunderstood me. The bass is terrific as it is. It’s jus some things were a bit unclear, that’s all. I’m terribly sorry I gave the wrong impression

No comparison. These are in another league more along the lines of a Sadowsky or Xotic. I own a Sadowsky NYC as well...and the Sadowsky is a little nicer, but not by much. For the price point, you can’t beat the Maruszczyk Elwood/Jake basses.

I've not played a Sadowsky or Lull or something like that,so I won't compare. I will say that none of the Fender Custom Shop basses I've played are significantly better than my Jake. If Fender CS would even make a short scale P bass like my Jake, it would cost twice as much.

There's not one thing about this bass that I hate. The Maruszczyk pickups that it has are probably not the flavor that I would choose for my main instrument but they do have nice tone. The 2-band Delano in it is also cool but a 3-band is going to be more suitable to me. Regarding the feel, quality of construction and appearance? Love those attributes......

Curious, I placed my order on a headless Frog 5er from my dealer back on August 18-20 and we (dealer and I) haven't received much of an update...going close to 20 weeks and still waiting. Is this normal? Personally I have waited much longer for previous custom orders and do not mind the wait BUT since they advertise 10-12 weeks on their website thought I'd ask if anyone else has experienced a similar delay?

Yes. happening here too for a customer. Company is at 120% doing their best.

I assume the factory has A LOT of instruments in the making and Christmas holidays are approaching too.

You will receive no update before your bass is ready. The sofa shot will simply pop up one day without warning. Patience is the virtue.... ;)

exactly. Exact same thing for me with customers. I Get zero updates and then just get email with sofa shot "ready" "for you?" or "when do i send??" hah :)

Thank you and whew...thought it was an isolated case with me! Enjoy the holidays and hope to have my bass early 2018!

Firstly.....I'm not brave enough, or stupid enough to tell her to "get out of the way"....:laugh:

Secondly.....I'm fighting women's logic which, of course, means that I don't stand a chance!.....

Y'see here's what happened.....

I ordered and payed for the recently arrived Elwood myself when it was ordered months ago.....

In the meantime my wife asked me what I'd like for Christmas and I decided that I'd like to have my Mensinger Joker de-fretted as her gift to me....

So....The Mensinger was sent off to California in good time, we thought, to have the work done and have it back here for Christmas.....

Of course, the best laid plans went arse up when the delivery of my Mensinger to Keith Horne in California was delayed due to the wild fires down there.....

So.....Trying to cut a long story short here....The upshot of all this is that my Mensinger has had the work done but won't be delivered here until this coming Wednesday....Thus making it too late to be given back to me on Christmas day.....

So......My wife applied women's logic to the small problem and decided that she's giving me the bass that's already here for Christmas and the Mensinger work that she paid for is now the bass that I paid for!....

Hope this makes some kind of sense to somebody!....:whistle::laugh:....
