Finally finished these, with apologies to those who may have seen them elsewhere. Been a long time coming - but it is interesting using a full size alder body on the PBass with the old school Fender medium scale neck - frets driven right in with no fingerboard.

Just ordered up an SGR Prowler, I've been wanting to check out a medium scale. Kinda plain lookin' but it does have my preferred single 'bucker configuration:

$200 shipped with gig bag.
My fav shortscales are the Mikey Way Signature Squire Mustang and my Cort Action Bass Jr - both single 'buckers.

I came very close to ordering one of those last year, but I couldn't find any reviews on them. Then I found my green Fernandes and forgot all about the Prowler. Sure is a cool looking bass tho.

I expect it to sound somewhat "rayish", as much as a passive can anyways. I first started playing a single passive 'bucker back around 1980, a used Guild B-301 hacked up to take a Bill Lawrence double blade 'bucker and an original Badass bridge. I still have it but it was water damaged in storage (I stopped playing for 20 years :scowl:) and I don't do long scales anymore - heavy as heck too :hmm:. In any case I'll let you all know what I think of it. Dunno if I'll like a 32, but I do like my Landing 30.5 so what's another inch and a half :D ?

I also came very close to getting one of the SGR's, but then Rondo put the 32" scale URSA Jazz on sale for less than a hundred bucks, so I went that way.

The URSA sounded pretty good out of the box, but it is destined to be a mod project platform for me right now, including a re-shape of that awful headstock eventually.

The Prowler seems like a cool instrument, though. I have 34", 30", and now 32" scale basses, so I am pretty comfortable changing between them.

Be sure to give us a review of the Prowler when you can.

Scarce and rare but they exist. They were only available as a custom order or an employee build. This is a medium scaler with a maple board:

HA! No, the only body I have laying around is a black pristine Variax Line 6 4-string body.

Actually the guy who built me the slab '51 body bought it from me the day the bass arrived from Japan. I sold it to him fully loaded and it made the cost of the neck quite reasonable.

Just got my Medium Scale Squier VM Telecaster Bass Special this week, and I am having a great time with it. The build quality is amazingly good, the sound is full and rich and the neck, while it is larger than I prefer, is very comfortable and easy to play. Better than expected.

Just trying to decide what kind of strings to put on it. It will probably end up with T.I. flats, but it will take a while to afford them.

It's heavy at 10 lbs, but my Lakland JO was even heavier!

Great basses - highly recommended.

Well, this is the best set up $200 bass I've ever seen - the action is super low and the nut slots aren't too tall. As good or better than my MW Mustang was new. The pup is closer to the bridge than either of my other single 'bucker basses, looks to be about the same size and placement as on a MM 'ray. The neck is relatively thin, quite a bit moreso than the MW Mustang. I'm pretty happy with it :cool: .

Ooh finally a club i can join! :)

32" scale lenght, never seen anything like it photos. I love this bass to death and its my main bass. Feel nice! sounds good, and looks cool :)

Aria Pro II, Diamond series Rock Device. According to serial its supposed to be manufactired in 1986 in Japan.
