The color is nice, it has grown on me. The pickguard I actually kind of dig. It is a mild mother-of-toilet seat with a dramatic axe-head shape that I like. IMHO, the small body needed a small pick guard, plus it protects the body from slap wear pretty well. Obviously a budget item... :cool:

The first two digits are the year, 2000 in your case. I'd be safe to assume the remaining is month/day so for you: December 6th.

Incomming! Won at auction on EB an Heir 5 tobacco and maple. Hope its all I think it will be. I'll post pics once I have it in my possession. Been wanting an MTD for a long time.

I so love this simple bass. I am playing it for everything. I love the growl, and have discovered several nice shades of GRRRRRRR......

Plus, this bass loves to be slapped. The 19mm thing is IT for me.

So 12/06/2000. Not too shabby for a 9.36 year-old bass.

Ohh....I think I need a number...yes yes! I want to join! :hyper: :hyper:

Picked up a used and worn MTD bass a few months ago and been using it exclusively in a country band I’m playing in. Blue and passive, I love it! Thought I’d have to spend some money fix’n er up but after a little setting up it’s found a new groove.

Then just got a Kingston KZ-5 Fretless. Came with bad pups but Michael & Dana got me fixed up pronto. I’m putting Chromes on it.

Here's pics of the new (to me) MTD Kingston Heir 5 rec'd this week.
Much love so far. Only problem was it was damaged in shipping (if you can see, now a crack in polyester finish below EQ knobs. Guess that's what I get for buying used off EB. In no way impacts play or tone, which I guess is what attracted me to her in the first place.

You have to look pretty hard, but its there, just hope it doesn't start to grow, like cracks in your windshield.

I ordered my Kingston Artist 4 today. I wanted to try it first before buying but there is a large sale in one eshop in our country just for today. I hope I will get it on friday...i post pictures asap :hyper: i guess it is going to be nice companion to my jazz bass...

Here is my new MTD Kingston Artist 4... i like it very much so far, very sweet (mm stingray-ish) tone - exactly what i was looking for, and amazing for slapping. I´m very satisfied :cool:
