The Official MTD USA Thread

Sorry dude, but NEVAH!!! Ok, well, maybe not nevah, but at least not in the foreseeable future anyway. :)

Besides, you don't want that thin anemic sounding piece if kindling. ;)

You wouldn't be talking about my old, red, piece of crap, would you? Just kidding...

To chime in on the walnut top discussion, my current combo of ash/walnut top/ash neck/maple board is my favorite by far. So full and punchy...lovin' it!!

And drum roll please......

GAH!!!! It's defective!!!! Look at all that messed up wood! Oh man, I'd dump that thing fast if I were you... hey, tell you what... 'cause I'm such an awesome friend, and don't want to see you stuck with such a lame dawg... ;) :D

Ok, seriously, :)

Bang.

-Fretted 535/24
-Chambered Mahogany Body
-Redwood Burl top
-Maple Neck
-Brown Ebony board
-Matching TR cover & Peghead
-Piezo bridge pickup (along w/ barts)
-Push pull 250/487 mids

I just blew the smoke from the barrel.

hey Saluki...what is your series number? i just got my 535 last week and it's number is 1705...I chose the Buckeye Burl instead of Crotch Walnut...but your top is not the top I was shown..............so members...........who out there has the mystery Crotch Walnut top? the blank looked like this

Yes, the little brown truck just delivered it:hyper:. Fedex would have had it here by noon but that's off topic:hiding:. It is freakin' minty. I mean it is a 9++ and looks like it just came off Mike T's workbench. I know no pics, no bass, but that wil have to wait till tonight or tomorrow.:bassist:

Can't wait to see pix and to hear back from you after you've played it. My 2nd 535 is currently in finish stage and is probably 1-2 months away from delivery. This one's a fretless 535-24, mahogony body, redwood-burl top, maple neck with ebony fingerboard.

Below are a few "in-progress" photos. The redwood burl top was made from a log that was originally sold to Audi to make dashboards for their A8 models. Man I can't wait to play this thing..... :D :D
