One of the rarebird red T-40's is on the 'bay right now. I think the asking price may be a bit high, but you never know with a hard to find color.

That was the same one that I unloaded about 20 years ago (big mistake...blame it on the wife). Blood Red was the color and it was a very appropriate name. That was the bass that hipped me to Peavey basses-it was an even swap, new with case, for an original '58 Dano longhorn.

My first bass was a Peavey, don't remember what kind but it had active p/u's. I played through an 1810 (1x18/2x10's)cabinet for 10 years or so (up until I stopped gigging).

Just started playing again and have a Combo 300 en route via UPS as we speak (hopefully it fits in my car!). I've always liked the sound of their cabs, indestructable as well.

Great site by the way, I just signed up.

Welcome to Talkbass! The Combo 300 is a great sounding, loud amp. Hope the fact that it weighs about 120 lbs doesn't bother you too much.

I can't really say anything bad about Peavey, the brand or the man. (Hartley is a nice guy). I started out a long time ago with a Basic 112. I think it only had like 40 watts. i know the new ones are much more powerful and rear ported, but for a small sealed 1x12 combo, it was all i needed to drive my parents nuts. after the Basic i stepped up to the Combo 115. this thing was great, 1x15, not tweet, shelving and graphic eq, and oddly enough the final selling point for me was the pop out casters. this thing was big but the casters made it tollerable and i could pop out the back ones and tilt it back a bit more towards my head. after i started gigging more i ordered a TVX210 and that was all i needed. it bumps it from 200 to 300 watts, adds a tweet, and did i mention the punch. It was great. wish i still had my peavey stuff.

Hey all,
I'm currently in the market for a second hand Peavey Cirrus 5 stringer (USA).
What are the key differences cosmetic differences between the USA model and the bxp.

For example which model is this,

If its a USA one then its priced great but I'm in Europe and the seller wont ship out of CONUS. Just using this as a reference for you guys to point out differences for me.
(If you know of any nice deals please send them my way. Preferredis the tiger eye model and maple but im open to all offers).

Thanks for your time,
Tom
