The Official Peavey Thread!!!!

just bought one from an authorized peavey dealer in my city. they had 2 of them on the wall. realized after i had it for a few days that it did not have the scalloped lower horn i've seen in pictures all over the net? it's a made in china version. maybe it's a 2nd because of no scallop? i would think they would have to mark it as such if it was and there are no markings to indicate that. it actually looks cleaner i think without the scallop and of the 2, i picked the lighter one that showed a lot more grain. it feels like, sounds great, fast neck..i'm happy with it..just was curious if anyone had heard of variations on these?

well time for me to join, don't know why I didn't sooner

Here is my milestone IV beside my Ibanez BTB 450qm

Spray painted black pickguard, & I love the tone of this thing, nice and Fat. Such a beater bass though, thats what I love about it, tone pot doesn't work, and volume pot is wobbly.

the early models didn't have the scallop... that one obviously had been hanging on that wall a few years...

I have a soft spot for Peavey gear since it's what I started playing with and used exclusively till just recently. I got this 10 years ago as my first bass. It's not without its flaws (like a weak G string) but I love it all the same.

That's how it looked till about a year ago when I decided to strip it and give it a paint job, with this being the result.

It's about to be stripped again and have the same paint job redone with better quality paint and thinner stripes. After that it might get a new bridge and better electronics. I also have a Basic 112 that I run everything through, it's not much but for what I do right now it's fine.
