NAMM info link (my bass IS THE ONE in the picture... not just one like it... didn't know it when I bought it, either... just an entertaining discovery :) )

I'm having issues with attaching photos...but I use a Peavey Nitrobass amp, 2 Peavey 115BVX cabs, and a Peavey 210tvx cab. I really wanta Firebass/ Max450 and or a T-Max. Peavey rocks. All things considered(tone, price, reliability, maintenence...etc) Peavey is among the best. Weaker in some areas (weight, portability, tone not as "warm") but stronger in others (reliable, long lasting, good tone, low-no maintenance, amp features i.e. DI, effects loop...etc, cost) Peavey is one of the best you can buy.

Does anyone have any experience with a Peavey Megabox? It's a pretty old 1x15" + 2x8" cab, 200 watts @ 4 ohms, 400 watts program. I now have a 410TVX. I can buy a Megabox for a good price, the only thing is that the original 15" speaker was replaced by a Fender speaker. I wonder if it's a good cab to complete my Traynor YBA200...

Peavey Verdine White (Sarzo) in red is my second fave bass.
Peavey Dyna Five in white is my lo B & gets regular play in Rock Blues band and for recording.
Peavey Foundation FL in sunburst is my only fretless right now.
Peavey T-40 in black with an AllParts neck.
Peavey TL6, don't play it much but I got it so cheap I keep it for those times I need a 6er.
I also use a Mk VI amp head with an older 2x15 for a lot of rock gigs.

I had a Peavey TNT100 for years. Hated it though.

On the other hand, their basses and guitars are not only some of the best bargains out there, but they are also great instruments. In particular, the Peavey G was an absolute breakthrough when it came out and is a steal on e-bay when you can find one. The original Cirrus 4's are phenomenal instruments, too.

It's a shame some people won't even consider these instruments just because the name "Peavey" doesn't have enough pedigree for them.

I actually like the fact that some folks don't like Peavey. Thats how I found my GREAT 84' Foundation for $100!

And off topic but my guitar amp is a old Classic 30, it rocks for blues/country guitar.

I love Peavey gear and proud of it. They are like the F150's of the music world.

I agree. The fact that you can find an American made Foundation or a Fury or a Patriot for so cheap is amazing. When everybody finds out about it they'll be overpriced just like Fenders are. Word finally got out about the Classic amps, so cheap ones are tough to find. I love my Prowler. I'll be looking for a Foundation soon. :)

Just got this back from the luthier. I had a new set of Reverend pickups installed, along with new pots, wiring and jack. I also got a set up.

I know it looks pretty generic, what with the black and white theme going on, but it sure doesn't sound generic! The best way I can describe the sound is warm and buttery, but with an attitude. Sort of classic P-Bass, but a little more defined and punchy. For reference, I have D'Addario half wounds on.

The sound is great, but this old US made Peavey plays great, too. The neck feels pretty much like a jazz neck, and the fretwork is good. I got this for $125 used, then spent about $150 for parts and luthier fees. It's a fantastic bass for $275! :hyper:
