Last mod finally got it just right for me. Thumbrests

I got the idea from the Guild Starfire Bass, but honestly three reasons, 1 like the look, 2 for strumming with thumb, 3 using a pick trying the thumbrest as a anchor point.

I tend to use the top of the mid-position pickup as my thumbrest, but I can see how this might work

Yes Used the middle pickup ring myself, just like the options this gives me

A couple notes, the Mod Bar I cut in half, lot easier on string changes. I put Rotosound Tapewounds on, really nice fullness and bite

I was worried at the balled the fat part of string creeped up an E string saddle but doesn’t seem to affect tone at all

I took my mod bar off my Jack Casady, noticed no diff with the silk on the TIs laying on the saddle now. And I wasn’t going for the ultimate in sustain anyway.

Yes, I did notice a difference with Mod Bar on/off much clearer and defined with Mod bar for me

I’ll keep it for sure. A string change may warrant its use sometime down the road. Either way, it’s a handy product. Clever about cutting it in half for EZ string changes. Never thought of doing that.

I’m mulling over the Webbteca mod bar or Hipshot Supertone bridge for my newly acquired Rumblekat. In your photo the E and A strings silks are still on the saddles. Isn’t the mod bar supposed to solve that? Or have I missed the point of this modification?

Yes, the ball end wrap creeped up on the saddle, those strings had a pretty long wrap would be a lot worse without the mod bar. The strings I am using now, labella 760fx-s short scale here is a pic.
