The 1210 is 1-10 + 1-12.....the 1212 is 2x12.

I'm moving to a smaller rig (head + 2x10 + 2x12), sold the cabs & almost sold the head too, but love the Glock.

It just dawned on me that opposed to selling & grabbing a combo that I might not like, check with some builders about doing something like this.

Jorg makes the "AIRHEAD" thru his custom shop, I dig his cabs & here we are !

I chose the 1210 config over the 1212 cause I like the punchiness of a 10 combined with the warm low of a 12.

:)

Cool and thanks. I have the 1210 and I really like it. I have not had the chance to hear a 1212 live and would like to compare it sometime. That was the reason I asked. I've heard that the 1212 will get a little deeper, but to be honest, I have not been disappointed in my 1210 to date.

Thanks and get us a pic of that new combo when you get it.

FWIW, the EA VL-210 is a GREAT cab.....but adding the 1212 just added an amazing dimension to the rig.

I'm not gigging, so it was just an amazing amount of overkill, especially seeing I'm not REALLY a bassist.....I converted from guitar 'cause none of the guys I jam with would switch.

Bunch of idiots show up, all with guitars & no one wants to sing harmonies............. :o

Cool to hear you like your 1210; I think it'll be a nice light weight option.

Thanks for the response, you and BASSIST as well.

I'm in sort of an indie rock outfit, and the guitars are pretty trebley tube distortions, so I have to occupy a fairly large chunk of the frequency spectrum in the mix. I'm currently using an Eden WT550 and an SWR GoliathIII. I like the upper-mid punch of the G3, but would like some extended low end and a lighter load. I've been considering either a 410L or a 21012L. I guess what I'm asking is, do you think one of those cabinets will satisfy that need? Is it possible to maintain the punchy clarity of the G3 while adding some lows with a Schroeder?

I gig mostly in a three piece band for which I'm responsible for covering a lot of sonic ground while the guitar player solos. I have no problem covering the width of the sonic spectrum required for these situations using the 21012R. As far as cutting through a mix, as has been stated by others, that's what these cabs seem to do beautifully. I played a 600 person banquet in a gymnasium at MSOE this past weekend with no PA support for my bass and had no problems. I've also used it in some large echo filled rooms, like the atrium at the Bradley Center, and its had no problem barking out over the crowds and ambient noise. However, I still hold on to my 810 for a reason. For really big outdoor stuff nothing quite gives like a large cab with lots of speaker surface area. Of course this is all IMHO and IME.
Hope that helps.

Edit: Oh yeah, thanks for the number.

WELL....here's my "Outgoing" 1212L(headed to TB'er BuffaloBill :) ):

No pics YET of my "Incoming" 1210L AIRHEAD (1210L cab w/built in 4-space rack to house my Glock Soul head & whatever)....Rhino coating & removable casters :D
I've heard it said a number of times that the 1212L sounds very similar to the 1210R.

Just food for thought.

Thanks! You've reaffirmed my desire for one of these :D

Do you have any sound clips of that stack? I have heard you play thru a single mini on Jorg's site, but not the stack.

A schroe mini stack maybe in my near future.

Here are 2 samples of live tunes with the 12 stack from a gig last Sunday with my band New West 5 at Spaghettini Jazz Club.

First tune is Song For DiFang by Kenny Garrett, our first tune of the night where everyone warms up and gets their sound/volume right, etc.

Link Removed

Next is Straight To The Heart by David Sanborn, our closer where everyone has already warmed up.

My recorder isn't the best out there so it doesn't pick up the low frequencies very well but this venue has a very good sound system so we have no problem with the house sound and the 12 stack always fills the stage with lows.

Hello everyone
just a quick question

I'm getting a Ampeg SVT-VR very soon
wondering which one of the Schroeder cabinets (up to a 4x10")
would you feel would be the best match for the VR.

I'm thinking about the 410R or the 21012R
I already tried the 1210R with a GK1001II
but not sure if it will be too small or sound right with the VR.

feel free to PM with your answer
since I don't want to take too much space here

thanks for your help,
Charles

Stay tuned for the new Mini 12+! Jorg's been working on a new design the past few weeks and I am fortunate enough to be part of the testing, etc.

I just got my custom new 12+ stack yesterday and played it at a gig last night. It is killin! I am off to my Sunday jazz gig and I will post pics and a review tonight.
