The fretless is beautiful! What kind of parts did you use?

The whole fretless cost me $280. in parts....$119. for a loaded body (unfinished/no-name). $130. for the neck (no hardware, no-name) $30. Gotoh tuners. The body was an extremely white wood; I, kind of, wish I hadn't stained it, but it is a similar 'walnut' colour to the fretboard now. After much sanding, the fretboard feels very nice. I just finished setting it up, and I'm very happy with the action etc (after some minor shimming and nut filing). I can't believe how good the pickups are, for a cheapy; comparable to the DiMarzios' in my other bass.....Oh!..$280. + $22. for chrome flatwounds, from ebay too.
A fun project. :bassist:

new arrival at home
twice older than me :hiding:

1974 Fender Jazz Bass, maple neck, 4 bolts neck, all parts still orignal

I'm thinking to do the same mods you did on my JB just one pics above of you + a white pickguard as well
I'd like to keep it all original, but what the hell.. I can bring it back whenever I want in case I sell it back

Exactly. Reversible mods are good. Just ask anyone who has had a vasectomy! :) BTW, libanass, I love your cream/vintage white colored Jazz. A beaut!

yep thanks :smug:
it was actually much brigher, but it got so old over the years, the color is turning to yellow, the bass cleary needs a repainting, but I'll keep it aged just like it is :)
I really think white stuff on that bass would make it look more beautifull, specially with these legenderay pearl white inserts in the neck
just as it makes your bass look much more beautifull as well

Pearloid inlays are indeed nice. I'm going to experiment with putting the parchment guard back on the blue jazz, since the white pearl might be considered by some to be a bit much.
