Wow, I really like the fretless. Would you be so kind as to share the specifications of this bass?

Body is mahogany, body top and headstock veneer is ziricote, neck is a 3 piece of maple, wenge, maple. Fingerboard is ebony, as are the control knobs. Hipshot tuners and type "A" bridge. Bartolini passive jazz pick-ups. At the moment its wired volume-tone, volume-tone, but didn't work as well as planned, so I'm gonna change that at some stage. Thickness at nut is 1 and 9/16'' and fingerboard radius is 14''. Scale length is 34''. Don't have a weighing scales but it's pretty heavy!

Very nice wood combos. What was it that you didn't care for about the controls?
I find that if either volume is even slightly higher then the other, it really takes over and renders the the tone control on the pick-up with lower volume pretty much useless. Seemed like a good idea at the time, I thought I would have some great tonal options with one pick up bright and the other dark etc.. but I need to have a re-think on that one!

Well, actually the previous owner changed that cover, which he made himself.
And no, I haven't changed anything else.

Bass number 6 for me, picked up new yesterday.
Got a free gig bag thrown in, and she's wearing D'Addario medium nickels from the store (I recognize the coloured ball ends).
Day Two has her set up almost the way I want, action's getting lower, nut's cut down just right, still some fret buzz higher up on the neck.
She's a bit heavier than my 4003.
I'm still getting used to the tiny neck, though!
