Nice setup! Welcome to TB!Hi all,
This is my first post here. I used to play bass in the late 90s and did a bit of gigging in a covers band with a Marshall amp and a Fender Precision Bass. Sold up early 2000s and did nothing until last year when I got a few 6-string. That's what I want to learn badly, but I still have a bass hankering so decided to get myself a present at weekend. Also, I'm hoping it will start to stretch my fingers a little and make my Les Paul easier to play!
Opted for a Höfner Ignition Special Edition Violin Bass in Sunburst as I found them beautiful to handle, lightweight, and I like the short scale. Also a big Beatles fan too, so that sound hits me, plus this bass is still quite versatile too. I also bought an Orange Crush Bass 25 as it's perfect for my current ambitions.

Orange are my favorite combo’s. I’ve had a 50BXT for years, and a 100 for gigs that never gets used these days. Sorta like me I suppose….Hi all,

It's a current model. American Vintage ii 1966 Jazz bass. I was born in 66 so I bought it, real glad I did. What's the story about the early '66 looking J?
That one has nice coloration so I'm down with it.

Wow! That's a real looker! Beside the seafoam they make one like yours and a sunburst, 3t I think.Very cool- what other colours did it come in? I have a (partial) early '66 J that is my mainstay player in the band I play in (Bond Girl). '66 J body refinished in Oly Wht and a custom dot-bound neck made to '63 profile specs by Luthier Dan Ransom SF. Marty Bell (SoCal) did the body Oly Wht and Pat Wilkins (also SoCal) did he neck/matching Oly Wht hs face. Fender PV74 pu's and custom lollypop tuners (way before Gotoh started producing them) and a Spitfire hand-made tort pg.
'66 was a special year for me too - bought my 1st bass that year as a 13yr old.

New bass day #2. I modified my new Schecter Omen Extreme 4 with Aguilar DCBs and a 3-band Bartolini preamp. Here's the finished product. I had to drill out to of the holes for the pots to 1/2" from 3/8" to make the harness fit. The stacked knob finish is a little different from the stock knobs. I will look around for a closer match. The pickups fit with 0 to spare. I was scared the bridge pup wasn't going to make it, but it finally wormed into place.

It sounds amazing! It can be warm or it can be raspy. I've only used a 2-band Bartolini preamp before. The mid knob has two frequency settings 200 or 800 HZ. I'm still playing around with it to find the sweet spot.
The pickups sound really sweet in passive mode as well.
Mission accomplished! Now it is a Schecter Omen Ultra Extreme!
