The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Got me a new Home Depot work table that is adjustable to standing height. It’s great for working on the fiddles. So this ‘96 s series hasn’t had a dressing since 1996 :bookworm: Until today! I was able to work the crown back up and they polished out nicely. She’s set at 4x 64th on the E and 3 x 64ths on the G. That is low and no buzz. It’s perfect! Some fresh chromes. Should be good for another 27 years :D

Dressed frets is always nice! Is the body thinner than a standard Fender P?

I just spend a few weeks putting this together from various parts. It started life as an old 1981 Greco PB450 with a broken truss rod that I got really cheap. I had an allparts gloss tint neck, but the poly finish was so thick, I stripped it and finished it in oil, put new high-quality hardware on it, and routed for the Aguilar AG4M, and an extra control knob.

I split the Aguilar and wired in a series-split-parallel switch, and 500k Vol/Vol/Tone :) It's passive but sounds pretty great, and is extremely versatile!

Awesome! Now you have a P, PJ, and MM rolled into one bass. Pretty sweet!

My humble rumble; black-n-maple G&L USA, with an added Hipshot D-tuner , and a Cucci Custom , by Joe Cucci in Alabama.
One - piece Black Limbe ( Korina ) for the body,
Wenge neck and board, Kluson bridge, and a Tone Rider pickup, out of the UK....super hot, but the volume and tone affect the sound in a profound way, and it is highly sensitive to right hand technique
Old school anodized guard, five coat hand rubbed Tung oil. She is a ripper!

Word "herd" fits pretty nicely in this particular case! ;-)
No way I could find space for that many in my tiny apartment... :-(

Is the MM Sabre like a G&L L2000?

I’ve only tried the fretless L2K and it was like 15 years back…sold it while i kept the Sabre. Sorry but I can’t recall the comparison.

I've never played a MM Sabre, but it has two MFD looking pu's, three control knobs and 3 switches (and 9v active?) all made by Leo Fender... I'll take wild guess it is similar.
