The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Nice - what's the SteJazz bass?
Thanks !
It's my baby: a bass i've build with a luthier during a one week course he was proposing, 19 years ago; with my friend Tof .. The bass has evolved since (pickups, bridge, head shape, .. )
Stejazz is the name i gave to the bass. Luthier was Xavier Petit. He was a very good one, with a real passion to share. RIP Xavier..

Here is the initial history:

Just an old black and gold...

No pictures just yet but I can at least talk about my new bass after getting confirmation that it'll be shipped this Saturday.

I lucked my way into having the funds to purchase a Kramer aluminum neck bass and the one I ended up choosing was an excellent looking Kramer XL-24 bass with a 3 piece Koa body. The XL-24 was a fitting choice because I started wanting an aluminum neck Kramer after seeing the 8-string version of this bass in person a little over 4 years ago.

No worries…the Lull P5 actually IS a Fender color: Shoreline Gold—w/Mint pg (although the pg looks more like Parchment in my pics…)
Speaking of my Lull P5…a new Lull mate just arrived! ~Lull IMA 4 (Firemist Lavender)~ First impressions: jazz on steroids…loads of muscle/more mid-forward tones. Solid ash body, all passive, ebony fb…8.4 lbs. Finding it hard to set it down!

I freakin' love my Peavey C-4 so when I saw a C-5 on reverb I just had to get her.

Virtually immaculate, just 3 little dings about 1mm each.

With her little sister

which brings me to a question for anyone who may know (can @kodiakblair please come to the reception desk). Why are some the of the C-4's & C-5's veneered and others are not?
