I suspect it's based on the posters bass list mentioning a "Walnut Fretless J"... Could be a flat-fretter?
My most recent acquisition. 2023 Rickenbacker 4003w. I like the improvements they've made to the 4003. Still like my 2012, but this is very cool.
So which bass gets played the most?
The P or the SB1. Most of the time my go to is split coils.
Yes, it is. I had designs on getting a 5-string, but not thrilled with the very limited color choices. Just when I was ready to buy, these came available.

I currently have 9 bass guitars. I have owned three others that got traded away. I have never owned a standard P bass. My Sire P7 is as close as I will ever come. One could say I lead a more "active" lifestyle.
Well, there seems to be just enough space in the right bottom corner for a p bass……………
Nice grouping and variety. I have to say out of all my basses the '78 Precision has logged the most performance and studio time. Classic P Maple tone. That Sire looks like it has a lot more to offer than just a Precision sound.
Recent years I've also run active fiver's. Love working in the upper range of that B string.
What's the story behind that Ray? Classic?
1976, B002414, Pre-Ernie Ball. Probably hand built by Leo himself.
I bought it in 1984 in a pawn shop right after (literally the owner set it on the shelf while I was there) it had been traded in by David Thumbs Johnson of Nantucket. My band Destiny had opened for Nantucket in Rocky Mount the year before. David came over after our set and was such a nice guy; very complimentary. I always wanted a Stingray from the moment they came out. It was only 25 years later I realized it was his bass. I had stopped playing for 20 years. Stuck it under my bed. Pulled it out and finally realized what I had. I went on Reverb to buy an original pickguard (David had a mirror pickguard made, but I wanted it to be all original). That's when I finally discovered just how lucky I was.

Tell us about the one with the whammy bar
The bass tech at the Raleigh Music Loft had a 1970 Fender Jazz that got run over by a truck. It broke the neck and damaged the lower horn. He carved away the horn for better fret access and remove the damage and installed a 1983 G&L L-1000 neck with crazy maple, 1983 EMG pickups in J-P configuration, and a high end Kahler wah-wah. He sold it to me for $400 back in 1984 with a nice gig bag.
It took forever for me to get the intonation and action right. You have to take the string off to adjust the saddle and they all move as one. But I have the patience of Jobe and now it is dead nut with super low action. A year or so ago I had a custom pickguard made and added a 2-band Bartolini pre-amp. This bass is the King of Clank. The P pickup by the bridge gives it a super cool and unique tone.
I may have it repainted one day. I don't play it that often, but when I do I freaking wail on it!

Definitely a Holy Grail piece. Very nice. She's a keeper. I got lucky too.

I bought an RBX200 fretless recently. In the end I couldn't gel with the less than chunky neck. And I was looking at a chunky pbass type neck I have that has been swapped onto a few different bass guitars now, and I thought ' hmm I reckon that will fit on the RBX200'. And of course it did, perfectly. I had to to move the bridge back. The result is a lightish little player that feels damn good. I haven't decided what I'm gonna do wiring wise with both basses in the pic hence the black electrical tape. The strings on the modded rbx are Jamersons 128 095 073 052 tuned C# standard
