I took my Rikkers Powerline with me to the south of France. Sadly I haven't been playing so I made a nice picture instead.
New Frankenbass.
Warmoth neck Roasted Maple on Roasted Maple with stainless steel frets, Schaller BM light tuners, graphite nut.
Body from Squier Jaguar PJ.
Dimarzio Split P and Ultra Jazz bridge pickup.
Control plate wired with master volume 500k pot, switch that engages .022 tone cap, and switch that selects between P only or P and J in series.
Here is a Pink Floyd-ish, low fi jam thing I threw together for tonal demonstration.

Ernie Ball Cobalt Rounds .045 to .105
Fender High Mass Brass Bridge.
Howard’s Feed and Wax finish on neck, about 12 applications.
For the sample choppers and slicers vid is copyright free and do whatever you want with it. All permissions granted. Chords are Dmin Add9 to G7.

Wanted to share a couple of my recent mini projects: An upgraded Charvel San Dimas with EMG PJx pickups, a huge improvement over the Dimarzios and what ever preamp was in there.
The other is a Squier bass deluxe iv body with a fender deluxe precision neck and EMG Jx pickups. Sounds pretty rad but would like to try the abcx blend at some point. I would love to put a new bridge in as well but there are no drop in replacements, it's a weird 6 screw thing.

Theoretically. That thing may be the official nickname for this one. It looks ridiculous, but of the ones I have played this one made the sound I was looking for.

It’s not a bass I imagined myself playing, but was indeed the obvious best choice for the mission.

Got this a handful of months ago and realized it hasn't made it on here yet. 2004 Warwick Dolphin Pro I. Never thought I'd find something to do with 26 frets ha.
Following up from my last post on here, I got a small trim router and added an EMG MMTW pickup to my Iceman bass. The tonal versatility this has added is huge. Solo'd bridge pickup sounds close enough to a Stingray. Solo'd neck pickup sounds like a very modern and aggressive P-bass sound. Both pickups maxed out has a very thick but indistinct modern sound. But then, both pickups with the push-pull pulled up on the MMTW makes it sound almost like a Ric. I had a lot of fun at my most recent gig messing around with different sounds to compliment different songs. And having the D-dropper is really sweet as well, I have one original song with our band that is in standard but ends on a D powerchord, so right before that final chord I flip it into D to play an open D chord which gives a huge heavy sound to the end of the song.
I mostly play my customized sting ray type bass these days. I'm looking forward to getting to continue on a scratch build soon, but just didn't find the time over spring and summer.
Thinking about getting one of these in the meantime:
Really dig the galaxy sparkle finish, and these go at much lower prices than any other basses I currently own...

New dingwall. It is such a beast.
In this family, we hold down the low end (upright and tuba are kid 1's)
Forgot I ordered a Classic Vibe with some birthday gift cards from Sweetwater- it was on backorder for a while lol. Pretty sure this one’s a one piece body. Plays blissfully!
