Turner doesn't seem to have prices on their website now, how much do those pickups generally go for?

They will set you back between $225 and $275 depending on which voicing you want. These are the original voicing. They are big boys though and are thicker than the normal depth of MM pickups so might need a route to deepen the depth of the pickup slot.

Thanks! It was an all original T40 with a rosewood fretboard until a month or so ago. The neck had gradually developed a really bad ski jump and it was time to replace it. I threw the pickup and new guard on at the same time

hello talkbass ! my aria pro 2 rsb special 1 (1984 japan)

So it's 2006 and I'm bombing around ebay. Up comes this '81 G&L mahogany L2000e. I hear all kinds of good things about them and the price was right. It had an '86 maple neck, otherwise straight. So I grab it. Upshot was neck needed work but it was playable. Got $$ back and started looking for a replacement.
The only game in town was Moses Graphite which made a neck designed for the early G&L's. Known to be problematic on occasion I went ahead and ordered one. Meanwhile the original preamp fried but no worries. G&L sells their current bass harness and it was a drop in. The neck finally came (a story in itself) and thanks to the wizardry of my tech he was able to get it mounted, ("just don't ever take it off").
So here is my '81 L2Ke 'Hog. It sounds amazing, very solid, punchy and thick on every note. I do take it out when I'm feeling my oats - it's hefty.

for me the aria pro 2 sounds amazing in a band mix ! I like the mb4 pickup with the thomastik flatwound ! my favorite bass !
