The only way I felt the pu cover changed tone, in my p51 is because it makes you play between the pups instead of above it...

She has played an SX for a long time and did a rig rundown video with it. However the most recent video I saw of the band on YT from this year she is definitely playing a Fender now! Screen shot attached. The SX had a dark/rosewood type fingerboard. These screen shots are from a show/festival called Electric Castle. This is my Khruangbin's Laura Lee tribute bass. So it must have the pickups covers.
She has them on for the cool factor which prevails over playability or tone
She plays a SX bass. Mine is a Fender Player but only the body is original nowView attachment 7044057
Playing an SX was a fun 'hook' that helped define her early on, but I can imagine Fender sponsoring her with some welcomed endorsement income. She has played an SX for a long time and did a rig rundown video with it. That is what I was thinking too!!!Playing an SX was a fun 'hook' that helped define her early on, but I can imagine Fender sponsoring her with some welcomed endorsement income.
I doubt she would turn down endorsement $ from Fender to remain an SX hipster...That is what I was thinking too!!!

When I saw the picture with the trunk and in the next post was your bass, I imagined that in the end of that rehearsal, when the guy looked at his bass it would see something very similar to your picture...
