The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

I can't stop looking at this.drool
Why'd you have to post dat mang? (in a Terrance Howard voicel

It's just too pretty to keep to myself!

Truly a work of art... I spend an awful lot of time just admiring the workmanship of this bass before and after playing it. It has a very articulate tone, with perfect distinction between notes (when playing chords)... I'm going to be perfectly honest- the transducer pickup is not the best sounding arrangement for this bass plugged in (which is why most of the ones made after the first few have a floating pickup at the neck). I think Bobby Vega's has a custom made EMG at the neck. They did a lot of pickup R&D, presumably after this one already left the shop. Unplugged, I just love this thing!

Some of my brood.

This is the whole gang. It's a small gang, but it's a perfectly formed gang.

I would love a beat up old P-bass too, similar to the Pino Paladino signature model, but that purchase is a long way off.

I'm tempted to give the musicman a bit of a custom-shop treatment, as I really like the 'used and abused' look. But I'm afraid I wouldn't like the end result so I'm holding back on it.

Maybe just wait till I find a beat up P-bass and keep the MM in good condition.

Try a 62 reissue in fiesta red if you can find one. I lust also for a Pino but the price is like wooh. I got lucky and found one and although it's not an exact, it's pretty damn close. The only difference IMO is the neck is not sanded down and ofcourse the relicing.
