Collector? It's a beat '80s Japanese Fender that I got as payment for moving a friend out West. Perfect, it's worth 600, it was probably looking like 3 or 4, tops. They're good basses, better than US of the time I'm sorry to say, but they aren't collector's items any more than '74 Granadas are. Besides, it's not like I'm going to set the original parts on fire when I'm done with them, if I ever sell it (I won't), I can return it to stock with the exception of a dramatically better neck. I could even refret it if I wanted to. You Fender guys crack me up.
The collection grows. 2015 Rick 4003, 2015 CS Fender Jazz 62, 2016 Fender 63 AVRI Precision.

Interesting group. I had a Kramer Monarch at one point. Nice bass wound up trading it plus 200 for a '75 maple neck Strat. I rarely play guitar but I am impulsive LOL

What's going on with those controls? Kinda looks like they've been replaced with short bolts/nylock nuts, but I don't think that's the case.Frankenstein Fender Jazz...Mid 80's MIJ E serial body, refinished MIM Jazz neck, Wizard Big P/J Pickup combo, a hybrid of Gotoh bridges... and the tuners and control plate are AVRI 62.
Here's my jank-bass. It's a Samick CR 15, 32" short- scale (I think, it's really hard to get info on this thing) , with the shoddiest electronics ever. The volume is essentially an on-off switch and the tone was screwed up back in highschool by a buddy who worked at the shop I got it from when I put it in for some work.
Anyway, I've recently set it up from E to C instead of B to G as I don't particularly like going lower than drop D on this particular bass. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to properly resetting the intonation and action yet, but I'm really happy with this setup. In the long run I want to get much heavier strings and tune D to B-flat instead (D is my favorite key to play in and perhaps weirdly my favorite note as well).
God I love this stupid thing. Nothing plays quite like it and I really dig the tones it gives.
