Some random (maybe Kay) upright that's in need of a neck reset, if you couldn't tell. A MIM Fender fretless Jazz Bass, my Rickenbacker 4003, a Jerry Jones Longhorn Bass VI, and a '70 something Kasuga EB copy that my dad bought while in college. I also have one of those Line 6 Variax basses, but I lent it to a friend who owns a studio. It's well suited to that use.

Left to right: '13 Fender 70's Jazz with replacement fretless neck, '90 Fender MIA Precision Plus (refinished), '09 Fender MIA Precision (my #1), '11 Fender 50's P Classic with 70's Jazz neck, '12 Fender MIA Precision. MJS Handwound Custom Pickups.

All are customized to some degree. While I have a definite #1, I'd never want to part with any of them.

I've only had this one bass for the past ten years. I owned several others before then, but I sold all but this one. It fits my every need. I have never even thought about getting another.

My '04 Fender American Standard Precision Bass.

As you can probably tell, I replaced the pickguard with a "brushed gold" finish custom pickguard, and the knobs with "brushed gold" finish custom knobs with red pearl inlays to match the body of the bass. These knobs cover up the s1 switch in the volume knob, but I virtually never used the switch anyway, so losing it was worth the custom knobs. I also added a Hipshot BT1 Bass Xtender key to the low string for easy switching between standard and drop D tuning (and that is also something that is totally worth it, although it was kind of a pain to install).

Hi Jome77, that's a gorgeous lineup. Im going to replace my mantle piece family photos with photos of your basses :-) How are you liking the jazz pro V so far? I'm getting a new bass this week and the sonic gray 4 and 5 string jazz are on my radar

I totally love the new Fender Jazz Pro. I tried out 4 Jazz basses at Atlanta Bass Gallery a couple weeks ago and that one just totally spoke to me. It has a wonderful tone and setup with super good low action. On top of that it only weighs 7lbs 12 ozs. By far the lightest of the 4 I tried. I believe that all of the others were around 9 lbs.
I would recommend going some where that has several so you can get the pick of the litter though. The others were really nice too but the one that I purchased just had it all going on.
For what it's worth I actually went there to pick out a G&L JB5 but the new Fender Pro just totally changed my mind.
