The pickguard looks woven but its a visual trick effect. It is actually very smooth to the touch. That and I love the color. Its called Martini Olive Green. Its hard to see in the pic but it is a fine metalflake. Its like a candy apple paint job that looks great with lights shining on it.

"None more black" comes to mind .... Although I did throw a set of Rotosound black flats on my Aerodyne Jazz bass last night and I almost couldn't find her after I did ... talk about BLACK!!

I really enjoy my Lightwave bass and the fact that it sounds for the most part like nothing else I own, both it's strength and it's weakness.
I tend to use the same reliable "patches" when gigging it and experiment with its range when alone. That's what I tend to do instead of practice, I improvise both instrumentally and with rig combos. I found the Lightwave accidentally by googling 'light weight 5 string'... fortuitous.

Watching THIS guys videos prompted me to buy a lightwave fretless.... I'd assume you've seen them to based on your reply.

This guy is amazing, but never saw him before. Thanks I enjoyed his work. Definitely a new direction for a bass instrument. That's something I liked in my favorite bassists.
As much as i enjoy good effects, I've yet to invest in anything of high quality as my gig calls are mostly more traditional in nature.
Might be fun as a solo recording mode.

I can relate, although I own 2 Eventide H9 max pedals, I'm always been hesitant to hit the "buy" button on either a Strymon Timeline, Bigsky or El Cap.... I just think the low end from basses don't allow for what the pedals are made for.... which IMO is for guitarists. Those damn guitarists!!! :mad:
