Jody (he’s known as Joey now) Spampinado was, and remains, one of my ‘short list’ Bass heroes...and a Helluva nice guy.
You know what they say about being a Gentleman...helping others who can’t possibly do you a damn bit of good?
That was Jody when I used to go and help those guys lug amps.
Last I heard, he was coming back from (colon?) cancer.
I’m sure that every good beam would be appreciated.

I like these over everything I currently have; various G&L, Fender, Squier, Sterling by Music Man basses. I obviously have a strong affinity for the Fender flavor of basses so I can't compare it to basses I've not played but I'm very impressed with these two in comparison to what I have.

Chick's dig it! ;) Personally I could never justify popping over $500 for a vintage late 60's set. Mine are commonly available Fender 70's style "Geddy Lee" large plate/large fluted clovers that have the top 'hump' ground/filed off. They look pretty authentic aside from not being Fender stamped on the plate. I have a couple of sets - this set is on my early '66 dot/bound J with a vintage '66 J (refinished) body-
