The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

I snatched this one up in an open box deal from Musicians Friend for $550. W/ the Mods and Case I have $750 in it. I sure feel Blessed. Excellent neck and not too wide @ the nut 1.590.

I just ordered one of those bad boys from Musicians Friend. How do you like it? I have a couple expensive old Precisions and Telecaster basses that I don’t really want to take out to the dive bars I play. So I ordered one of those special edition Precision/Telecaster basses. I’ve heard some mixed reviews about the stock pickups. I suspect I may want to upgrade the p/u. What is your experience. Thanks.

I got a fantastic one, for certain. The stock pickup is lame, with small ceramic magnets and only wound to 4.9K. I got a Mike Dirnt Loaded Pickguard w/ the Vintage 59 from Stratosphere. I already ordered a 2nd 59 and installed it in 1 of my Model T's. Best Alnico 5 Passive pickup I've heard.

Woo Hooo!!! Takes me back to when I started playing ANY guitar. LOL This is one base I always wanted but never got it. I have the 'KNOCK OFF' bass that sounds pretty close. Synsonic sounds just like it but is a little flat in comparison. Something about the fullness in the sound quality. The Lori is the second in line. But that's just my opinion based on exposure. :) GREAT BASS!!

After 26+ years of owning it, I decided my '92 Precision Plus needed a change. I switched out the stock white pick guard to a tort, courtesy of Pickguard Heaven/Chandler. Fit perfectly too. I think it gave the bass a whole new vibe - more of a vintage look.

You did good, looks much better IMO. Now that's a "Looker" !

Here's my 51 Style P bass with pickup cover.
Thinking about maybe a bridge cover. Any votes yes or no?

And last but not least is my modded Affinity Bronco

At the moment five basses are all I can handle. But since the Bronco technically is has a short scale doesn't count as a full bass does it LOL there's room for one more.

A bridge cover would look cool.
