Oh look, my new (slightly used) electric upright bass. It's only been about 35-years since I've played one (high school). Wish me luck, bringing it to the next rehearsal of our semi-acoustic jazz/blues/classic rock trio.
It's a Stagg EDB3/4RDL with Pau Ferro fingerboard.
I call it "Il Bastone."

Two new (to me) basses: one from few weeks ago, the other yesterday from a yard sale around the corner (literally).
First one's a Hofner Shorty.
This one's for my young-teenage son, whom I am directing to play bass.
He's being a good sport about it.
These are actually pretty nifty. Sound is way better than I was expecting. Neck dive is annoying, but hey, what more do you want? The little tuners scream "Fisher-Price" to me, but really seem to be solid anyhow.
Second up is a Squier P. Never had and have rarely even played a P-style bass, good Lord, what I've been missing.
Strings are about 20% rust, and despite the fact that it needs a setup badly (and a new nut), the sound's great and the pots are surprisingly smooth, given this thing's age.

Here are a few Warmoth/Parts builds I have completed over the past several months.
1. Warmoth Ash body/Roasted Maple neck. I finished the body with amber tinted Tru-Oil. Matte black pickguard. All hardware is Hipshot Ultralite. Pickups are Nordstrand Big Blade P and Zen Blade BC along with a Nordstrand 2b-4C preamp. I added a series/parallel switch for the Zen Blade. Strung with Slinky Cobalt Flats.
2. Warmoth Ash Jazzmaster body/Roasted Maple neck. I finished the body in Smoke Green (Gretsch Green) with a satin clear (I still need to age/relic the body to match all the hardware). Tort pickguard. All hardware is Hipshot Ultralite that has been aged. Pickups are Nordstrand MM4.2 and a Slugger neck J along with a Noll TCM2 preamp. I added a coil split switch for the MM4.2. Strung with Slinky rounds.
3. MJT Alder P body/Warmoth Roasted Maple neck with Pau Ferro board. The body is Firemist Gold and the pickguard is an aged black. Tuners are Gotoh FB30 Nickel Relics and the bridge is an aged Wilkinson. Pickup is a Lollar Overwound P with a Gunstreet Wiring Treble bleed harness. Strung with Slinky Cobalt Flats.

I have a pretty similar bass! only I let MJT do the neck too and also had them abuse it a bit more.

My three basses I own at the moment: '12 Rickenbacker 4003, '00 Ibanez SR 406, and an '09 Modified Squire Fretless Jazz Bass.
This is as far as my research goes a prototype of the Framus Jan Akkerman Bass. It has an added passive boost. It was build for a famous german bass player. It was sold to me 2 years ago after it came out of a closet. All the crackles were created by it standing years against two heating pipes.
Beautiful bass, looks to be pretty rare too. I love that finish checking, it’s one of my favorite characteristics of an instruments finish. Looks amazing.
This is a Squier VM 70s jazz which I upreaded to Seymour Duncan SPB3 and SJB3 pickups along with 3 250k CTS pots and 0.47 tone cap with a switchcraft jack. Man this thing sounds hot and punchy
The Bill Lawrence or Billy Lorento pickups are really nice. I have two Fender Roscoe Beck humbuckers on order. Wich are allso Bill Lawrence designed. I have a Ibanez Roadstar II guitar wich I loaded with two Gibson Les Paul humbuckers.... Wich.... turned out to be .... Bill Lawrence pickups. Really scary.....
