The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

20190602_102240.jpg

This morning's "glamour" shot. Both Squiers, both survived many rounds of buying & reselling cheaper basses until I found ones I was comfortable gigging and recording with. Not the most subtle sounding instruments in the world, but they do the job nicely for me. The active Dimension is quite a bit lower output than the passive Precision, which says a lot about the MFD pickup!

That modded MF is business. I never got along with 'Rays ergonomically because the pickup was so rearward that it felt stiff playing with fingers and with a pick i was whacking the snot out of the pickup. Still i liked their sound. That sorts it out nicely there. Sexy too.

I would love to hear that P + MFD bass. Got any clips?

Nothing by itself, only heavily distorted on hardcore punk recordings, not very representative! I'd like to try & get clips but would only be phone recordings at the moment.

It's got a lot of variety, between series, parallel and singlecoil settings. Very responsive to picking position and technique too.

Reverb seller in California, first time seller too. Guy was awesome to deal with actually.

The price was extremely fair which included shipping AND much to my surprise he shipped it USPS NEXT DAY BEFORE NOON DELIVERY!!! When he told me I’d have it tomorrow, I thought he meant the tracking number, not the bass.

One of the best buying experiences I’ve ever had .... and I’ve had a lot ;)
