The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

I was never big on the P bass sound, always liked the growl and mid-range that I get from the bridge pickup. Also got rid of the Active Electronics.
I dig a MM at the bridge

I am completely sold on DR's Coated Strings. They are Magical, IMO. I've had 3 sets for over 2 years and they still have their bright/fresh tone. All of their coated strings are coated on Nickel-Plated Steel w/ Round Core except the Dragon Skin Clears and the Black Beauties which are Stainless Steel w/ Round Core. I don't notice a significant difference in tone or longevity between the Nickle plated and Stainless coated strings.

DON'T THINK I POSTED THESE BASSES HERE

Thanks. I gotta return kudos to you and your Rickenbacher assault squad. Always been a fan of those machines and yes, I will be the proud owner of one some future day.

Chromes, huh. I'll have to keep that in mind. The 160s sound great. The jury is still out on the feel. I took advantage of the sale at SWater and ordered some string sets, one is a set of Black Beauties for this bass. I'm hoping they sound good, play well and make the bass look cool.

QAPLA!

I finally got around to puttin the Beauties on and wow what a difference a string makes!!! Playability, the tone up and down the neck is incredible. And they do make the bass look cool with the contrast an all that.

Got me thinkin this....

Sorry, it is a cool tune.

Anyhow, I am so glad I made the change. It's like night and day from the 160s. I repackaged them for future use.:bassist:
