The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Very cool, Ed.

Your collection is, in my opinion, the most coherent, solid and cool of all TB.

I don't know about all of that. I feel Blessed to have all my inexpensive Basses. This Mike Dirnt is the most expensive of 5 new Basses I've purchased over the last 6 years. Everything else I've picked up used and very cheap. Thank God I've been blessed with the skills to tweak and mod them into really good playing and sounding instruments. 3 are MIM, 2 are parts Basses(partially U.S.) and the rest are Asian made.
Guess I'm going to have to get them all out to get a new family portrait, LOL.

That would be nice. New photo, please!

You know what you want, money or cost aren't a guarantee of satisfaction.

Hey all,

Was in the market for an American Performer P with one of the Elite Fender cases. Was going to cost me $1975 AUD, which by Aus RRP standards was a good deal.

But, then the store I was getting it from had an American Professional 3TS/MN in stock for $2099 AUD. So, for only $125 more I was getting all the improved construction of the Am Pro, and the case included. Sure it was missing a J pickup, but... come on, look at it. It oozes class. I couldn't say no!

I am very happy with it. I also have a Player series P with flats, and while there isn't a huge difference, sound-wise, it does feel a class above in construction and the smaller details. Those rolled edges of the neck are a nice touch, I've never owned a bass with that before.

One downside, the foam inner of the Elite case can be partially lifted out at one end, but I figure that's just a production thing. The adhesive doesn't seem strong enough or just there wasn't enough applied in production. I'll spooge some contact adhesive into the void and push it together again. No big deal. Can't be bothered to request a new case just for something I can easily repair myself.

The bass is mint though, no complaints there. I got a good un'.
