This is from a “driveway gig” we did after all of the nonsense started. It was a beautiful day and I had acquired the Walnut Ric a month prior.
I strung the Walnut with Labella Gold Flats. The JetGlo is obviously a tad more aggressive sounding. Maybe a bit too much.
It was weird playing through the TC. It sounded decent. Should have brought one of the tube heads. Oh well.

My wife does, we're teaching our toddler and I'm just picking up little bits here and there.
Good thing she can enjoy your playing and you never have to turn the volume down!
That’s funny!
She has been hard of hearing her whole life; about three years ago she had a case of strep that fried what was left due to the fever. She sightreads music, and plays piano. No idea how it sounds, so she’ll ask me. She likes bass because it’s low enough on the register that she can “hear” it. My voice is also low enough to be heard by her (I can hit below the bass’ E-string vocally).
I hung out with a church crowd that included many Gallaudet students. I visited their campus a few times and let me tell you, if there is a group of kids that LOVE bass...
The only time I regretted being there was when they showed "The Beautician and the Beast"... Fran Drescher's voice... gah!
This guy arrived today.
Spector Performer 5. Perhaps a bit mundane and entry level for some, but perfect for me. And beautiful I think.

It's a solid bass and I'm pretty happy with it. Nato mahogany body, 3-piece maple neck, Ebony fretboard. The pickups are probably not "great" (in terms of being Barts or EMG or Fluence or whatever), but the bass sounds great, so...who cares?
I've always wanted a Spector, and this bass really scratches that itch.

NBD! I bought this Ibby SR 650E this saturday, and I must say I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The neck is really fast, and the whole bass is oh-so-comfortable. It's also solidly and ergonomically built all over, but I love that neck! The Nordy designed pickups really packs a punch, and there are som great sounds I get from playing with a pick.
I’ve yet to play an Ibby that didn’t have a great neck
I got hit with Bass Acquisition Syndrome in late May and bought one of the all-in-one kits (bass, hard case, extra strings, yet another clip-on tuner, yet another 10-foot cable, yet another cheap guitar strap) from Kraft Music in Milwaukee via Reverb. It’s an Ibanez GSR100 in mahogany, and I’m mostly pleased with it (other than wanting to change the knobs to something with an indicator that gives me an idea where it’s pointing). It’s an expensive bass that gives me something to do during down time. There’s something about the natural-wood look that gets me.
Then I stopped by Guitar Center a couple of days later for an inline tuner I felt like I could trust (the Korg GA-2 on the table) and somehow ended up buying that Acoustic 25-watt practice amp for $100ish. Acoustic is apparently GC’s house brand now and that amp doesn’t suck. Still trying to figure out my settings preferences for it, though.
