The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

I was going to do an x-files cover/spoof thing, but other stuff came up and I didn't have the time. :(

Got your back!

Can a $400 Squier be good?

LOL I don't know how to take that... :D

Here are the steps in living color:

Nothing bad :) - I've just seen a ps mode/filter that makes any photo look like a watercolour - all whooshy and painterly. I tried searching for an example on-line but haven't found one yet. I've seen people here on tb use it over a pic of them playing. And since everything around your work is focused and crisp, it enhances that 'look', like you selectively edited it in. I've seen your work on this project and am curious how it plays.

Hey everyone! Here's my latest video! We're taking a quick look at my Lakland 55-64 LOG Edition 5 string P-bass! 5 string P's are quite the rarity, and this one is one of the best. Let's check it out!

I have to ask.
You did a great demo for a 5 string bass, but you played between 2-5 notes on the B string. We all know how a P bass sounds, and this bass sounds great, but when you do a 5 string bass demo, I think you should play more on the B string...
Just my opinion.
and again, I'm a big fan of your videos!!!

The B string adds 5 notes?

Thanks for watching! This is just a short vid on this bass, I'll be doing a longer vid where I go into greater detail on the tones and aspects of the instrument and will definitely spend more time on the B in that one :). These "Fresh look" videos are usually just a little preview of the instrument as opposed to a full review. Cheers!

All very cool! I’m particularly interested in understanding the cool “arc” controls on the Jupiter. Are they blend and tone settings?

Thanks. The upper control is master volume and the lower is pickup pan (operates two separate pots via gears). The two conventional knobs are tone for each pickup. It also has original active electronics (on the bridge pickup only) and a mercury kill switch to mute and disconnect the battery when on a stand. Really crazy and well made bass.

Now I love it even more! Super cool!
