Mess around with the strap height, you might find a more comfortable position.

I honestly don't know the difference. The neck on my 58 feels much like the profile on the RW P's as it is thinner front to back. My AO50's is a chunkier neck. Perhaps neck profile is different between 57 and 58 (if they did both)?

Interesting. Good information. I noticed both of ours being see thru white over ash, both have raised A pole pieces on the pickups, but I the pole peices on yours are beveled where mine arent. Is your pickguard lacquered or bare anodized? On my 58 it's lacquered. Mine is also silly light for ash, but that has more to do with good fortune than year they are trying to approximate. I think we have one of each (57/58) as your neck looks like '08 where mine is '13.

My pickguard is not lacquered.

Beautiful. I was struggling too till I got a Sterling by Music Man short scale bass. Sounds and plays good.

Here's my latest addition. A 2007 Vintage Modified Jazz Bass. MJ frets. I really like medium jumbo frets.

Duncan Design pickups with standard issue Fender strings. 2050?

Sounds really good. Pickups seem hot as h-e-double hockey sticks. Plays like a dream, another one of those 'better have at least a half hour to kill' basses. Love it.

This is my second VM having bought the Precision back in June. Or was it July.?

I kinda like these VMs, ummm hmmm.
