The 32" scale "Gilaxis" with many pu selections/options (thanks to tb member @cdlynch for his help sorting it and providing the lovely graphics) String stop is from a '60s Japanese short-scale bass.

I need to take a new photo. There have been some transitions, especially last summer (2020). Last time I got them all out for a group photo was 2015 when a bassist friend stopped over to visit. Here is the photo:

Three of the basses above now have new owners.
A Peavey Forum joined the bunch after 2015, but was sold to a friend a couple of weeks ago. Photo in the USA Peavey Club thread.
And 7 basses have come into my home studio since this photo was taken.

The 1978 4001 in my 2015 pic got some company in 2016, another sibling in 2018, and two more, at left, in summer 2020.

These two are really nice basses but are now with friends because I needed room for fancier basses.

Hamer Monaco bass

Some of those really fancy basses. I just became an EBMM owner a month ago.
The one at right just arrived yesterday.
Both of the fretless basses in my 2015 photo were sold in August/September, and the Bongo fretless is "the" fretless bass in my home studio.

A Jackson Concert EX that I got cheap with the stock bridge pickup not working. It has Dimarzios now and sounds fantastic.

'20 G&L CLF L2500, and '12 Kiesel/Carvin Icon 5...both 17mm spacing, 34" scale, and with monstrous B-strings. You don't need a 35" scale to have a big and/or tight sound.

I dig the CFL too, the headstock makes it look like Alleva made a G&L. Is it just cosmetically different from a regular L2500?

It's been alnost 20 years since I owned an L2500, so memories of that are a little foggy. But, my CLF is built like a tank, and has more attitude than my previous gigging bass, a Yamaha BBP35. That says a lot, because the P35 was no slouch (just a HUGE body). Mainly, I don't think there's much, if any, sonic difference from a regular L2500. The body is basswood, like my old one (that one had an ash top), but it's pretty much the same sound. I thought I hated basswood, because of EBMM Bongos...nope, it was the eq's fault. My CLF is 10 pounds, but feels lighter than my Yamaha. I'm pretty sure that the CLF's neck is slimmer than a regular L2500, come to think of it. The gloss finish doesn't bother me at all (regular L is satin), and it has graphite rods in the neck, making for a pretty dead-flat setup. I don't like Alleva Coppolo's headstock, even if the CLF's is reminiscent. It's slimmer and more streamlined than AC. Also, I love the adjustable pole pieces and, of course, the color..."pharaoh gold firemist".
