Thanks! I just wired/assembled it this weekend. It's my own custom designed/built "Juniper", referencing an early '60s Italian Meazzi Hollywood Jupiter bass. In fact, the string-stop cover is from a vintage Meazzi Jupiter. Journeyman luthier Dan Ransom/SF made the lovely flamed/torrified maple/ebony medium scale neck with 22 banjo frets to my specs (it will be Plek'd next week), and Pat Wilkins/SoCal did the beautiful finishing on the body. It's chambered and the bass weighs 7lbs/13oz and balances well. Upper bout 5-way selector switch is N/B/N&B/series/kill-switch. V and push-pull T pot incorporates a fuzz circuit when pulled up.

Pat's the man - and thanks! I always am inspired by such 'outside-the-lines' design to guide me in expanding my own vision. Considering the Meazzi - there's a certain 'clunkiness' to it that is just so spot-on. My '63 Burns of London Vista Sonic medium scale bass was a big inspiration also.

Here's an early pic determining how I would start the project. FTR, I started it almost a year ago to the day.

Pat's the man - and thanks! I always am inspired by such 'outside-the-lines' design to guide me in expanding my own vision. Considering the Meazzi - there's a certain 'clunkiness' to it that is just so spot-on. My '63 Burns of London Vista Sonic medium scale bass was a big inspiration also.

It was a very nice single slab of Honduras mahogany -

My man at a local coop cabinet-making facility used their industrial band saw to slice it in half. I had to let it si/air out for a month before he planed them as it warped a bit after being cut.

I've posted my others before, so here's my newest workhorse. It's an ESP E-II GB-5...long title, BADASS bass. I also made use of some leftover, glow-in-the-dark fretboard dots, and put them on two knobs, the pickguard screws, and even the string tree's screw.

Very cool - I own an ESP/GrassRoots Bass IV - if all of their basses are as good as it sounds and looks ... they are doing something right.

The newest edition to the family, the FGN Mighty Jazz. This thing is completely bonkers. I’ve strung it with LTF’s, and it has definitely wormed its way into my heart. It feels and sounds like a show bass at a workhorse price.

I keep pondering your FGN model. They make Ibanez's Prestige line.
