Gotta be the best individual bridge unit I've ever set up. Yeah, the jack location is convenient.
other basses in the back are an MTD Kingston super 5 and another p bass build. Also a squier classic vibe Jazzmaster guitar.

I apparently have satan's bass. The "What's the best bass for metal" question can finally be laid to rest now. Well, at least for black metal. Of course it's black on black with black blocks.

tone monster plays real nice with tons of low end. Did all the work myself including design and make my own water slide headstock logo.

After many years of wanting one, I finally got hold of a Basslab L-Bow. This thing is amazing!

Hollow carbon fibre neck AND bow, intended to lower the resonant frequency and give it more clarity down low. Supposedly under 7lb, as well.
Was it expensive?
Not unduly expensive, it cost me about £2200 with taxes and import duty. It's a used 2001 model in great shape and yes, it is as light as a feather. I will make a full thread tomorrow hopefully.
My newest acquisition, a Reverend Mercalli 5. It should be here on Friday.

This started life as a 24" scale Hadean uke bass.
@KohanMike had some work done to it.
Gold hardware: hardtail bridge, and 3 thunderbird style humbuckers. Added fretmarker stickers and gold Gibson style speed knobs. Originally wired with all 3 series wired HB's in parallel to volume knob.
With the stock plastic nut.
Overall look when it arrived:
Not one to leave well enough alone:
cut and unwound BEAD round wound from an old string set I had laying around, work very nicely.
The crappy plastic nut had to go! So I cut a new nut from a cow bone blank.
Adjusted the action , truss rod, and intonation.
Plays really nice now..
Restung with125-65 roundwound strings which feel good with the lowered action.
Weather cooled off and parts arrived.
3 way switch: neck, neck middle, middle
250k Tone w/push pull to activate bridge pickup.
Full copper sheilding.
500k volume
Removed fretboard stickers.
Dressed frets.
Cool.

This is one of the most unique basses I have ever seen. Really cool.
I'm tuning it EADG. The thickness was to combat floppy feel of standard diameter strings (105-45).
I may try BEAD tuning just for kicks.
1/2 step down (D#G#C#F#) it is usable, has to be as I detune for one band.
Another solution to the softness of the strings is to use flats (which is what it came with) but wanted to use rounds.
I may try some slightly stiffer hex core "Heavy" gauge rounds at a later date.
For now it's a fun little mad scientist experiment.
SURPRISED at the tone variations provided by the pickup switching since they are covering such a small physical area of the strings. Loading has an effect to be sure, but different harmonics are definitely still in play.
bringing it to practice tonight, along with my other recent project:
we'll see how these sound "in the mix" at volume.
