The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Cross-post from the Classic Vibe Club-
Picked up this 2020 70s Jazz this afternoon for a steal. Removed the cover & rest but kept the Badass II. I might put a tort guard on it plus some Model J pickups to boot.. decisions decisions :bassist:

I built a project bass out of a VM Jazz body and a CV P-bass neck a while ago, then loaded it with DiMarzio Area J's and new pots. Mostly stock hardware, except for Allparts "threaded" steel saddles.

I think it was just one of those lucky combo things, but it was and is one of the nicest-sounding Jazz basses I've ever heard.

I'm not a big 4-string guy or a Jazz fan, but it's probably the only project bass I've ever regretted selling. A buddy still uses it as his main recording instrument.

Awesome! I may actually give some Area J’s a spin with this one- I’ve never tried a set of those myself. Thanks for the reminder! Did you use 250k pots?

Sold something off, got this- it's an edition of something I've always wanted but couldn't afford... Epiphone came through via Fujigen Japan, which happening has fortuitously happened upon me.
It's heavy, has a neck like an old hand-railing, dives like a stone and has a beautifully murky, but deep and punchy low end. I really dig this bass...
