I put TI Jazz flats on this one, my tribute to Geezer Butlers bass way back in the beginning. It needs to get dirtier.

Just moved into a new house (downsized from the old house) and got my basses hung (plus a few guitars) at various strategic locations...

On a stand in the living room is the Explorer I built last winter. First instrument I ever built. Every time I look, I can't help feeling proud.
I want to borrow this to play Bowie’s “Starman”. Would somehow seem like a fitting tribute!

Except it has an epoxy hg Thor neck , now with model j pickups and played on a ton of shows in nyc and now out here in the mountain west , and that the body is so old it forgot it was a tree once and thinks it’s just a slab of ….
Edit : It started its life with a matching headstock (car) and fretted a few decades ago.in the early days . I almost sold it until my teacher , Jeff Andrews , played it on a gig and I realized as a young bassist that sometimes it’s not the arrow but the Indian…
