It can take a bit longer to get a response from Daywalker since he's not on all the time; I had the same "problem" myself, I too thought that maybe I've sent the message to the wrong person, but in the end I got my number So it's just the waiting game...

I'm having some issues with my Thumb BO 2006 ltd.
Whenever I pluck or pick agressively, there is distortion. This happens in both active and passive mode. It can't be the battery, right (since it still happens while passive)?
Do you think I have a faulty component in the pre-amp? Something wrong with the pickups? EQ circuit?
It's not my other gear, as I've trouble-shot extensively. It's definitely the bass.
I'm at a loss here

I'd just throw a new 9v in it. I'd imagine a cold solder or other preamp issue would = no output at all.

Hey mate,
Your basses volume pot,when pulled only bypsses the onboard eq whle the pickups remain active & need a battery.
It sounds alot like your battery needs replacing.
