Yeah +1 to this, I've bought from them before and their service is really good. I wouldn't have any issues using them again.

My 1st Warwick... '06 Corvette Standard 6 String. Now if I can just find a Fortress to add to the family!

This is not to say it can't get real mean. I like all the coil tap options, but for my metal band I'm really digging the neck in series and the bridge in single coil. It sounds like a sledgehammer being swung downwards into a pane of 1/2" thick glass. :bassist: I know it's partly just the honeymoon but this is truly a superior machine.

I've been slacking off a bit on my practicing and such. My Warwick has just been a beautiful centerpiece for the past few weeks more than it has been a tool. Just hearing it, the sound, makes me want to pick it up RIGHT NOW. It's very odd to me how once I finally got my Warwick, I can just hear that amazing Warwick sound. Some songs I was listening to I thought "Man, this really sounds like a Warwick"..did some checking up and sure enough, it was haha.

Yes, there are definitely more taperwound B options available now than when I first picked up my Corvette (back in '97) so you don't have to file your bridge.

You can also do the old trick I did, and that was crimp the part of the B string with a pair of pliers so it would fit in the bridge. That worked until I discovered the joys of taperwound or contact core strings.

2006 Streamer double buck, fretless, has anyone seen another identical bass? I haven't and I think this was some kind of miracle that fell into my lap. I bought it with one of my student loan checks haha. This instrument has done a lot to make me a better player and develop a better ear for tone. When it is in tune and intonated this bass feels like a porsche in my hands. It is so solid and well balanced and you can feel that everything about it is refined and perfected. Also it gets about any sound that is possible with a fretless bass, it rocks for metal and sings for jazz. I'm going to be disintegrated in a thermite explosion along with this bass when I die, because I don't believe in burial or cremation I want my atomic structure to be disintegrated and returned to fundamental bits of matter and atoms. With this bass. :hyper:

My Thumb!!

Hi all, this bass has been MIA for a VERY LONG time. I've had it for many years now, but didn't play it for most of those years. I have finally come to my senses and started playing it again full time, and am just loving everything about it.

It's an '89 Thumb NT that my father bought used sometime in the 90s from a Berklee student.

I am playing it now in my R&B/Funk band. Fretless may not be the most common for this type of music, and it is a challenge, but in a lot of ways I prefer it to fretted.

That is indeed my custom ebony gaboon ramp. As you may have noticed, there is a small shim in there. Well, the ramp shrunk! I thought ebony was a dense wood and wouldn't shrink that much, but I guess I was wrong. When I made it it was a perfect fit, nicely wedged in between the pickups. I was going to make another one with the grain going the other way, but I didn't really feel like it, so I just cut a piece of my ramp trial #1 and wedged it in there. I honestly wish I didn't need the ramp at all, but before this I was playing a Musicman Sterling with the humbucker pickup, which I would play over. I got so used to playing with support under my fingers that once I switched to this bass and lacked the support I felt like I didn't know how to play anymore (and the front pickup itself isn't wide enough). I like the look with the ramp, though.

I, too, will be joining the ranks very soon. My 2008 Streamer Stage 1 5 string will be here this Weds. It's my very first Warwick and will certainly post pics on it's arrival. Looking forward to seeing (and hearing) what all the buzz is about.

I posted this in the electronics forum but figured I put it up here too. I have a Proline with active PU's and 2 band Pre. I need to replace the pots, and since I'm not a big fan of the pre, I was toying with the idea of wiring the electronics passive. Thinking of going with a Vol/Vol/Tone setup.

Anyone try this?
Any ideas for a a good cap value to use??
